Overview:
DVI displays from Apple and other manufacturers often come with a non-removable video cable. If that is too short for your intended setup, things can be tricky indeed!
The Dr. Bott DVI Extension provides an extra 3 m (10 ft.), extending the range of the display to a total of ca. 4.5 m (15 ft.), which is the current limit for passive extension cables.
DVI Extension offers optimal signal quality so that video signals are transmitted correctly for a great picture and trouble-free operation.
Compatibility:
DVI Extension is compatible with all current DVI graphics cards. We have tested all Power Macintosh G4 models that came with a DVI graphics card as well as all Power Mac G5 models and a variety of PC graphics cards.
DVI Extension works with virtually all digital DVI displays and LCD-TVs currently on the market. We have specifically tested current Apple DVI Cinema Displays up to 23", older Apple 22" Cinema Displays (DVI) and Apple 15" Studio Displays (graphite) as well as several PC displays up to 1600x1200 resolution.
DVI Extension cannot be daisy-chained, i.e. you cannot use 2 of them to extend the DVI cable by 6 m. If you require an extension that is longer than 3 m you must use an active (electronic) extension product such as ADC Extension Pro.
Similarly, DVI Extension should not be used in combination with other extension cables or adapters. The combination may work but it is probable that you run into problems with the quality of the displayed video signal.
